What is gaming?

Gaming means playing via a PC, console or in some other virtual way. So it’s not when you play football in the backyard or throw a frisbee with a polar bear. Board games also count for gaming. It may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but it still counts. 

What is Gaming? If you play some form of computer or video game, you are often part of what is called the gaming community. This is done even if you do not actively communicate there. It’s like a big community where everyone is included no matter what game you play. 

When you think of gaming, the first thing that comes to mind is online gaming. This means that you play with or against others over the internet. Online games are of course gaming, but you often forget that offline games are also counted as gaming. There are many people who prefer to sit and play by themselves without meeting anyone else. 

As gaming has grown, several large companies have been created, such as Nintendo. These new companies are constantly delivering new games that attract new people into the world of gaming.

What is a gamer?

What a gamer is may depend a bit on who you ask. In general, however, one can say that a gamer is a person who practices gaming, that is, plays games. 

Some people say that by playing a certain game, for example Counter Strike, you are more “gamer” than someone who does not. That’s not true, you’re just as much a gamer if you play a game as Counter strike where you shoot people as if you play Transformice where you’re a mouse and chase cheeses. 

Just like I mentioned before, you are a gamer even if you play offline games. You do not have to sit and play with or against others to be called a gamer. It works just as well to sit and play offline against, for example, a computer and still call yourself a gamer. 

Some also believe that you need to have some equipment to be able to call yourself a gamer. It does not matter what equipment you play on, but the main thing is that you play games. 

Most gamers play games for entertainment but there are also those who do it professionally. Today, there are several who are gamers and compete in e-sports. They can often make very good money. 

Being a gamer is very broad and everyone who plays games counts there. Gaming is inclusive and you should feel welcome in the community.
